ANGELIC FILIGREE (Mason, M. 2015) 09-09
Tet Dormant 30” Mid Late 6.25” (Truly Angelic x Entwined in the Vine)
Lavender with deeper orchid eye, but the outstanding feature on Angelic Filigree is the white picotee surrounding the deeper orchid edge on the petals with defined knobs and teeth. Undoubtedly this is inherited from Karol Emmerich’s wonderful Entwined in the Vine. Angelic Filigree gets its vigor and hardiness from John Rice’s award winning pod parent, Truly Angelic. Flowers frequently have quilled sepals, but not consistently enough to qualify as unusual form. The clump produces an amazing number of scapes, each scape with well-spaced branches carrying 20 buds each. A good zone 4 partner for more tender toothy ones. $75.00 NOTE: Pictures are taken with two different cameras. The Cannon EOS offers a cooler lavender and the Nikon Coolpix accentuates the warmer tones. For my eyes, the real color trends toward the cool side.
